March Slips By
I know, I sound like so many other people of my age....Where DOES the time go? March is winding down already and the weather has been as unsettled and uncertain as March weather is supposed to be. Very warm and sunny, very cold and rainy, windy, windy, windy....pretty clouds in blue skies, dark clouds in grey skies....lots of variations on the theme of March.
Everything is leafing out and we have signs of blossoms on the trees. Very very small blossoms, but still they are showing a peek at their color and delights to follow. I wait each year for the Crabapple blossoms, and this year they will (hopefully) be accompanied by our year-old cherry, peach and Asian pear. And then next year will come the Fuji apple trees. That will make me very happy and give me ample blossoms to photograph as well as fruit to enjoy.
Remember Simon? Or Simone? He/she disappeared for a while....did I tell you this already or was that Facebook? Anyway, we have BUNNIES!!! Well, I've seen two bunnies, but that is enough to thrill me beyond measure. Here is one of the little cuties, through the kitchen window. I think they are gathering eggs from the hens so they can get busy coloring for Easter.
Speaking of my kitchen window, I enjoy looking at my orange chicken every day. She is very quiet, doesn't lay eggs, and clearly gathers dust:-/ Ah well, Spring cleaning is a process, right? A process that has no clear start or finish dates. RIGHT?
The pesky sparrows are very fat, thanks to all the chicken feed they eat daily. One at a time can be cute, sitting in the lilac bush while I wait for blossoms.
Our rose bush (I only have two) has such pretty leaves. We shall see if we get many blooms this year as this is a thrice transplanted bush that was left here by the previous owner. Admittedly, I don't care about it too much, but it lives on and on.
A little more rain is coming in tonight. This was our early morning sky looking to the West. It's breezy, cloudy, unsettled, and just exactly the way March is supposed to be.
I will be back soon with more....more blossoms, more horses, more BUNNIES (?), and more pretty skies. Have a good day!!
