That's a Wrap
Labor Day weekend is over, along with so many events and vacations and Summer for kids and heat and lack of rain. Okay, maybe not the last two, but that will happen soon. And for us, we didn't have events or vacations....and we certainly don't have kids (Whew!). But there is a change in the air that is my beloved Autumn. I have seen a few leaves on the ground, a few birds that are not regulars, and the hair on the horses is getting a little thicker. All those things make me smile.
We do have things going on around our place so life is not as dull as it may sometimes sound. With two of the horses at home, there are additional chores and beautiful animals filling our hearts. If you are a horse person, you know how it feels to sit and listen to them eat, smell their horsey smell, listen to them nicker, pet them, brush them.
We have bids to replace the floor in the guest/spare bedroom so that will happen very soon, hopefully before our special guest arrives. One of Erik's daughters is moving to California so she will be closer to us, and passing through for a visit the middle of this month. Yay! We also have a sliding door to replace before Winter comes. And then we batten down the hatches, so to speak, until next year's projects rise to the top of the list.
I am sharing this photo today because to me, it represents the end of Summer. I am not a car lover by any means, but I saw this one recently in Santa Barbara and thought it was super cool. It would be fun to cruise Pacific Coast Highway and pull out along the way for a picnic. Or drive it to a lake and stop for some lakeside fishing. It's definitely a Summer car, designed for outdoor fun. And when Summer is over, it goes back inside until next year.
And so it goes....
Happy September!!
