Sunday Photo Day
Yesterday was a sunny day, but the wind was blowing and that made the 50 degrees feel pretty chilly, at least by our standards. I made a short visit out to the barn to see the horses but knew it was not going to be fun for riding. So I texted Erik. He was happily watching the Celtics on TV and so I headed to the coast. Although it was windy at the coast, the temperature was a little warmer. I parked along the Morro Bay Strand and headed out with my camera. You can walk for a long long way on that stretch of beach. People were enjoying watching the high surf, flying kites, looking for treasures in the sand, riding horses (!!), and generally just soaking up the gorgeous blue skies.
I took another many many photos to satisfy myself and was planning to head home. But then I turned onto Hwy 1 and drove a short distance to Cayucos. Home of the delicious smoked shrimp tacos!!! And after another walk along the beach taking photos, I was satisfied and drove home. Okay, yes I made one more stop....at this place. http://brownbuttercookies.com They had all their usual delicious flavors, but were offering a Lime and Coconut cookie that I just had to try. Mouth watering good:-)
One of the things I found delightful yesterday was walking up the beach and finding that someone had placed this chair alongside the path through the rocks. I didn't stop to rest, but I thought it was very inviting to sit and watch the surf. And the people. And the occasional dogs.
Bring your camera when you come to California and you can lounge for a while by the ocean.
