Video Bombed
It's nice to hang out with the dogs mid-afternoon when it's their time to cruise around the property, after the donkeys go back in. I usually just walk around, but it was so nice this week that I decided to sit down and maybe take a little video. Zoey does not know how to sit next to me without being in my face. And she tries to lick me. She has been wandering around eating chicken poop and I really don't welcome her kisses at this point. So this is how it goes with a few minutes of Zoey time, trying to sit and relax.
Yesterday was one of those days. It started out with no power when I got up, meaning no heat in the house and no coffee!!!! OMG!!! After a very quick trip to Starbucks, PG&E had finished replacing a pole on our little road that someone had split about 10:30 the night before. It takes a helluva lot of speed to break a pole. And our road only accesses 5 properties, so the idiot had to be flying. I'm surprised he wasn't found dead. I hope the Sheriff figured out who did it because that is so dangerous.
The day ended with watching Beau for a few minutes and realizing he was in pain. He had been okay a little earlier when I rode him so it was worrisome. I was waiting for the farrier and just hanging around the barn so I stood by Beau's stall for a few minutes and just knew something wasn't quite right. After about 10 minutes, called the vet who was nearby and came over. Gas colic. So she drugged him and ran the tube down his nose to lube him. I talked to Cheryl this morning and he is doing well.
I'm a little wrung out this morning. But fortunately there were no power incidents last night so we have heat and coffee. And that makes all the difference.
Enjoy your Friday!
