Hiding From Me

We were walking in Santa Barbara and passed this canal which was very very stinky from shallow stagnant water.    I was torn between wanting to hurry past and taking a photo of a very young Egret with an adorable tuft on its head.   I got the camera ready but he/she was too fast for me and tucked under the ledge.   I like the photo anyway and wasn't going to stick around in hopes of getting a better shot of the young one.
