Hum Along With Me
We have more hummingbirds than we've seen since we put up the feeder. They are putting on their little sword fights outside the kitchen window and it's just delightful to watch. I'm sure the males are trying to impress the females. I looked out the other day and saw a new beauty flying around and trying to get a drink. He is an Allen's hummingbird with much different colors than our usual Anna's hummers.
Isn't he pretty? When he flies and fans his tail, it's bright orange. I hope he brings friends with him, but I haven't seen much of him so he may just be passing by. Anyway, a second feeder is going up soon and we've stocked up on some sugar since they are very very thirsty/hungry.
We've continued to enjoy beautiful sunny days in the 70's. Hey, if you're not having Winter, you might as well have nice weather, right? All the weather people now say that the storm door has opened (a persistent high pressure ridge has given way to low pressure, to be technical) and rains are coming in this week. And gale force winds. While I don't love that part of it, we will take any rain we can get.
We went to Cambria again yesterday so here's a photo of the beautiful coast. Honestly, I am in awe every time I am there. Have a great Monday!

Every time I look across the ocean, or even our gulf, I'm struck with awe.
