We Call Him Luke

My heart has been hurting over the horses at the auction, heading to slaughter in Canada.   There was one in particular who was tugging at me all week.   He wasn't bailed last week and was the last one from that group without bail as of tonight.  So we paid his bail and he is going to an equine rescue group in upstate New York.   I was near tears and Erik said, "Just pay it."   One of the MANY reasons I love this man so much.   He understands and he has a big heart.

This is the young guy, just 5 years old, who was dumped at the auction.   We call him Luke and I hope he has a long happy life.

I can't bear to think of "horse slaughter.".

Ohmygosh, seriously?
I love you and I love your Erik! Luke is a beautiful boy - how in the world did he come to be at the auction?! Thank the stars you were there on this day.

If there are bonus points handed out during the course of our lives - you and Erik will be awarded double the normal amount. Just sayin'.

He has a kind eye, doesn't he? I could not bear to go to our auction here, just a few miles from our house... it would hurt too much.
