From Pottery To Bridles

I am once again listing "stuff" for sale on Craigs List and Facebook groups.   It's not easy to sell things....not because I don't want to get rid of them, but because you just have to find that one single person who wants exactly what you have to sell.   I've avoided eBay, a site I used a long time ago, because I think they take a percentage and it just seems a hassle.

Used horse tack is hard to sell, no matter the condition.

Farm and ranch things are pretty easy to sell.

Pottery is hard to sell, no matter the condition.

Horse blankets should be very easy to sell, but surprisingly are not.

I haven't tried selling clothing, just boots.   That hasn't been successful either.   And so I usually end up donating clothing items.   I should try to get money for them, but I don't want to be bothered with so many people coming over to look at personal items.

I think, most likely, I list my items at a higher price than people want to pay, due to the good condition.    I don't want to give things away for half of what I think they are worth.   Try try again, I usually say.   And of course people want to negotiate the price down anyway, once they decide they're interested.

I shall persevere.   I have some camera equipment but will sell anything of value to B&H.   And then I can have new camera equipment.   Yay!   I also have two iPhones and an iPad which I am going to trade in to the Mac Store in SLO for my new Mac Book Air.     Sometimes trade-ins are so much easier and I figure even $25-50 is better than having the item sit in a drawer.

Does anyone still use eBay?   If so, what do you think of it?   I know it's the best place to sell my pottery, but I've just hesitated to go back there.

From soup to nuts.    From pottery to bridles.   You name might be for sale.

I am tired of having so much stuff.

It's supposed to rain today and someone is coming over to buy some of my 4x6 rubber stall mats.   I'm selling them for $30 each and she wants 4.   Money in the bank!

Ok, I have to get busy.   Lots of things to sell!!

I hope you're having a great Sunday.   Don't stress about Thanksgiving.   Just enjoy.

I travelled a fair amount when I was in my 30s and 40s.   A lot of it was on company business and we didn't have a strict budget, so I could stay in nice hotels and not be too concerned about the cost.   Although some were nicer or fancier than others, there is still a certain sameness when you check in to one and another and another.

I no longer have a need or burning desire to travel.   Sure, I'd like to visit Paris again or Austria or Italy.   But it's just not in the plans for the foreseeable future.   So back to the point I was going to make.   Hotels are   When we made our plans to spend the weekend in Palm Springs, we opted out of the busier hotel where the wedding was being held.   We chose a small place across the street, mostly because it was less expensive, but what we found was a nice little relatively quiet retreat.   The Desert Riviera.   A charming little mid-century style spot amid the busy "getaway" spot of Palm Springs.   We loved it.

The last photo is the sunrise on the mountain.   It was so beautiful.   I definitely recommend this place if you plan to visit the area.

Enjoy your day.

I have so many thousands of photos, too many to share here, so I wanted another place just to enjoy them.   I have a SmugMug page and I'm starting to build a portfolio there.

I need to fill my time even more than riding my horse, taking photos, working with Erik on his contracts, taking care of the dogs, running I don't read every single thing about the incoming administration and their plans.

Have a great week!

The Crawl

Found this guy/gal in our yard and the chickens had no interest in centipede for breakfast.   Pretty happy with the quality of video from my new iPhone 7 Plus.

Have a nice Sunday!

Change The Channel

How do you get through four years of a loud man's voice when you cannot stand the sound of it?   It will not go away.   After eight years of listening to a very smart man who is worth my time, it will be difficult.   I am going to miss President Obama and his very intelligent, lovely wife.   I cannot imagine how they feel, turning over the country's leadership to such an awful excuse of a person.

Relax and Breathe

It will be over soon and there's nothing left to do except vote, if you haven't already.

I'm still adjusting to the time change.   I was fast asleep at 8:30 last night, up at 4:30 this morning, and about ready for a nap.   The wedding weekend was perfect with everyone celebrating the ideal match of Pete and Melinda.   Erik's daughter and her guy have been together over 7 years.   Families and friends were more than ready for this event and it was beautiful in many ways.   I will share a few photos this week, although I don't have many.   I didn't want to walk around with my camera all weekend, although had it not been for the wedding, I certainly could have enjoyed the beauty of Palm Springs with camera in hand.

We loved our stay at this little paradise with only 10 rooms.   It had original mid-century design features including those fabulous red doors.   And it was much more quiet than the Ace Hotel across the street where the wedding was held.

So now we're home, back in our routines, and awaiting the election results.   Relax and breathe.

What Happened to October?

I blinked and it was gone.   But it left with some beautiful skies and a few October-like images.

A fire breathing dragon....well, at least in my imagination.

A pole-sitting vulture stopped in for lunch and then sat down to rest for a while.

And I enjoyed sitting outside with the dogs more than I ever do during the Summer months.

I took some of these photos with my iPhone 7 Plus.   I like it a lot for many reasons, the camera being one.

Now the battery is dying on my MacBook Pro.   It's always something, isn't it?   But it's the wedding weekend so I shall think about that next week.   Thanks for stopping by.

What Have They Done?

Blogger made some changes this week.   I didn't dig in enough to understand them because most, I'm sure, don't apply to my needs...
