California Barn

We don't have a lot of traditional old style barns in this area.   Because the weather is relatively mild, many people choose instead to put up pole barns or, in my case, a mare motel.   Others choose the metal barns which are basically prefab configured to your size and layout.

I was happy to be able to take a true barn photo recently.   I love how the oak tree stands over it and together they age gracefully.

Thanks for visiting.   Have a Happy Tuesday.

we have much the same problem in Texas - not enough 'real' barns to satisfy the hungry photographer...

It's all creaky and aged... a bit like me, so I like it!

Absolutely beautiful & I love the oak tree, too... the fencing really adds to the scene, also.

Great shot with a good composition - love the tree gracing the rear of the barn and the weathered siding...

Love the weathered paint. Looks a lot like barns in my area. lol

Many people here choose the pole barn now too, or often reside wooden structures with metal (as we're doing). Not due to lack of love and respect for the wooden structure, but for practicality I'm afraid. Our weather is simply too wet for wooden barns to withstand too many seasons, even if cared for diligently.
