Home on the Range

All is well here at Autumn Sky.   The situation with the colic was worrisome, the vet came out a second time and treated her.   My friend took both mares home on Thursday and they are back to normal.   Yay!  Of course there is always something when you have animals....Zoey had developed a hot spot on her skin so she was treated to a vet visit yesterday.   She is now on antibiotics and ointment twice a day.   The donkeys and the chickens?   So far, so good.

My two rescue horses are still in Pennsylvania at quarantine farms.   The plan is for them to be picked up by a transport on April 2nd.   With a layover, they should be here about a week later.   Coop has not been sick, knock wood, so he was vaccinated and doing well.   Lucas is clearing out the last of his boogies, had his feet trimmed, and is busy gaining weight.

He is such a pretty horse.   I can't wait to get some photos of Coop.   This  is his video that was done by the broker when he was purchased by the kill buyer.   Such a cute horse and will be great on the trails.

We are expecting some rain this weekend so I'm not sure what's in the plans.   And I really don't care because I like being free and easy, going with the flow.

Our hills are getting greener and I saw a few poppies yesterday.   Getting excited for the wildflowers!

Enjoy your weekend.

Glad the colic is under control and that the hot spot is being treated... Max got a nasty one when we lived in Arizona. So, now you can take it easy for a while until your two new horsy kids arrive on the scene. Sound like they are just what you were wanting. :-))

I hate the thought of them heading to their end. Lucky Coop ... he's a handsome fella and handles so well.
