Sweet Peeps

Thank you for stopping by yesterday to wish me a Happy Birthday.   The cake you saw on my sister's blog is a photo I found online several months ago.   I hope to find someone to make that cake one of these days.   I suppose I could try, but that's not going to happen.   I think fondant would be pretty challenging and I am not someone with tons of patience for projects.

We've had a few days of gorgeous clouds in the sky, but with that comes some humidity.   How do you live with humidity?   I feel like I need 3 showers a day and so many changes of clothes.   Of course not all of you are taking care of outside animals, but still!!   Humidity is not my friend.

I am trying to be very aware and thoughtful about our election this year.   I am concerned that so many people are making a choice based on harsh rhetoric and statements based on spin rather than fact.   I want people to be responsible for themselves, but there are so many in our country who are not able to live on their means.   Our government brought this country to its knees under the previous administration.   I don't want to return to those policies.   I am not inviting controversy here.   This is my blog, I have not been political, but I feel it's so important to express my choices in some small way.

And so it's Friday!   I am going to be home with flooring installers for half the day.   Oh joy!   Thank goodness for air conditioning so the humidity stays outside.

More of our beautiful September 5th sky.

Incredible sky photos, Sis! We all have our strengths in life. Don't think I could do fondant either.

Happy belated birthday, and thanks for your thoughtful comments.

I agree. I agree that your sky is beautiful, that humidity sucks the life out of anyone, and fondant is for professionals. And I agree completely with your carefully worded comments about what our country needs.

Tending to outdoor animals is beyond me, but everything else you expressed or photographed here I can embrace. Thanks for this post.

Fondant not my "gift" either . . . I don't have much luck baking a cake let alone mastering fondant . . .

Birthdays last until the next one . . . Keep on enjoying yours!

I'm weary of all the political stuff too. I don't like all of the comments at work, on TV, the news, blogs and FB. I don't really want to know what everyone else thinks of this or that--I just want it over.

To me, it is a lesser of two evils.
