Hiding From Me

We were walking in Santa Barbara and passed this canal which was very very stinky from shallow stagnant water.    I was torn between wanting to hurry past and taking a photo of a very young Egret with an adorable tuft on its head.   I got the camera ready but he/she was too fast for me and tucked under the ledge.   I like the photo anyway and wasn't going to stick around in hopes of getting a better shot of the young one.

Always the beautiful animals in the pollution. Santa Barbara is so wealthy one would think the taxpayers could clean that up!

Don't blame you...I wouldn't have stuck around either, and sad he couldn't until you got a good picture.
