The Boys Are Back

We spent yesterday afternoon at the coast.   We were going to stop in Cayucos but there was a polar bear dip just finishing and the town was packed with people.   So we headed north to see the elephant seals at Piedras Blancas.   Still crowded with people so we drove to a smaller parking area and walked.   I had never been there to see the big daddy seals who came down from Alaska to stake their claim on the females.   And I had never seen new baby seal pups.   Wow, what a way to spend some time.   I am in awe of these creatures.

I took a short video but YouTube has it looking dark and barely viewable.   I'm going to work on that and hopefully post it tomorrow.   Be forewarned, there might be seal overload.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Wow! That would be a sight to see. We don't have them here, so I imagine that is something to behold. I hope the people leave them alone--do they?
Awwww....how awesome!...:)JP
Love these shots, we don't get to see sea creatures of this sort around here too often, except the occasional seal.
