Just Lovely

We had a lovely weekend here.   I hope you did too.   I decided rather last minute that we should have steaks on the grill for a mid-afternoon dinner.   We added baked potatoes and grilled asparagus, then fresh strawberries, and it was oh so nice.

A drive to the coast gave me the opportunity for some photos of non-traditional Easter flowers.   Iceplant in the sand.   Yes, not exactly an Easter flower and not exactly welcome in California, but they do look pretty and add a little touch of bright color.

Our rose bushes are in full bloom and I'm enjoying them a lot.   They often don't do much when our Summer weather settles in and the temperatures are so high.   Heat, dry, dust....not very friendly.   I only have three bushes because they don't really thrive in our soil.    The Julia Child is so gorgeous and the McCartney is now giving her a run for the money.   Yellow and pink....so so lovely.

Enjoy your Monday and have a great Spring week!

Such a lovely scene, Denise! Iceplant... they add just the right amount of color to the green carpet.
Our Easter weekend was lovely, too. Perfect weather!

They sell ice plant here and I am guessing they just dig it up wild and fly it one over!
