And so when we hear that 20-25 foot waves are crashing in, we flock to the water to watch. The parking areas start to fill up, cameras are in everyone's hands, and there is a lot of oohing and aaahing just like when fireworks are on display. Will this be the biggest wave to crash over the jetty, or will there be another one just a little bigger? It's easy to stand there for an hour, transfixed by the power of the ocean and its sound.
Don't let those pretty skies fool you, it's been cold here. We've had some rain, some freezing temperatures, chilly wind, and we'll gladly take it because Summer always gets to be a little too long. Now I'm trying to decide....should I do some holiday baking or save us from the indulgences that go along with it? Maybe just one batch of fudge. Or maybe one batch of decorated cookies. Or maybe some pumpkin bread. Or maybe I should get out and get some exercise instead, then decide.
Have a great Sunday and please stay safe and sane this holiday season.
