The Berries

Isn't that just the berries?   My grandma used that phrased often.   I wonder how far into the next generations these old phrases will last.   It's a shame if they just go away.   Do you have grandma-isms that you like to say?   If you have children around you, make sure you teach them so they're not lost forever.

Anyway....we are fully into December and you might notice (or not) that I continue blogging without regularity.   I think when we last touched base, I was trying to sell some stuff.   And I have been successful in selling a few items.   Last week I made about $180 and this week, if the sale happens later today, I will make $120.   I could continue this effort all winter and hopefully bring in several hundred more.   I haven't posted anything on eBay as I continue to hear negative stories about people selling there.   I don't want hassle.   I just want to sell some stuff.

I have made a few online purchases which is so convenient except for the items that require signature and leave me waiting all day.   Our county was hit last year and this year by people stealing packages off the front porch of homes.   In broad daylight.   I'm not willing to let anything sit outside for long, especially if it cost more than a couple dollars.   I'm expecting two more items next week and that may be all.   We'll see.

I want to bake but I'm fearful that I will eat it all.   So I haven't, but I might.   We only have one extra person for Christmas and she's not a fan of sweets.   Give her something salty and she's good.   Maybe just a batch of fudge.

So all is well here and isn't that the berries?   I hope your holiday plans are going along without anxiety or pressure.   Have a nice weekend.

Beautiful photo in your header..You're probably doing as well on your own as you would do on Ebay.. I may bake some things tomorrow for gifts for the trash men..mail lady, etc.. I don't want them around either..Too tempting especially when it's warm..I'm doing a few loaves of Banana and Cranberry breads..I do all my shopping on line..We haven't had any problems like that here yet..I haven't heard that saying for many years..Sayings will disappear because no one talks to each other any more ;) Hope you are having a good weekend.
Hello Denise! I admire your selling your things, and know that I should follow your example, instead of just hand onto it and not use it. But it's too bad that on the flipside, getting new things has to be worried about. I'm lucky in that I can have things delivered to where I work, but there are things that come here, and I get nervous because they sit outside for most of the day. I've not gotten much off of eBay, but I've had good luck with it and a few of the Etsy shops too.

I hope that you're doing well, and having a good weekend!!

Isn't that the berries . . .
I love the old sayings . . .
Right now I can't think of a one . . .
(When I do though, I will send them on to you.)

Interested in your selling things . . .
Communicated through your posts, email or how?
I may try the same . . .
I give away but selling "stuff" might be fun!

I saw the word BERRIES and thought it would be a photo of berries near the ocean . . . silly me
Your photos are stunning Denise . . . thank you for your artistic eye . . .

I just remembered something . . .
Not a saying, but a word . . .
Smitten . . .
Quite smitten for one another . . .
I like that word, seldom hear it anymore . . .
I haven't heard that one before...

Love your images!
