Ballerina Bird

She was twirling in the sand from the wind.   As I got closer, I realized she only had one leg.   She took off, flew a short distance, and landed again.   Sweet little ballerina bird wasn't letting anything keep her down.

I'm surprised at how often I see these one legged birds, usually gulls. Great photo of the little guy.

A wonderful reflection. We will also see occasionally one legged sandpipers or plovers. I always wonder how it happens.
