Ballerina Bird

She was twirling in the sand from the wind.   As I got closer, I realized she only had one leg.   She took off, flew a short distance, and landed again.   Sweet little ballerina bird wasn't letting anything keep her down.

I'm surprised at how often I see these one legged birds, usually gulls. Great photo of the little guy.
Awesome that she survives this way! Now I want to bring her dinner....

we have come across one legged birds while in florida and i'm always amazed at how agile they still are....and actually act like nothing is wrong.....

A wonderful reflection. We will also see occasionally one legged sandpipers or plovers. I always wonder how it happens.
